If you're a Coby Fleener fan, we've got bad news for you.
According to our sampling of mock drafts, the Fleener-to-Atlanta ship has set sail and doesn't appear to be coming back into port any time soon.
This is what happens when we get through the NFL Scouting Combine: picks become a little more clear, or in this case, much, much more muddied, as you can see from this week's Mock Monitor.
Fleener's impressive performance at the Combine has shot him up the draft boards in the eyes of many of the mocks in our sampling and all but one has moved on from projecting the Falcons to select him in the second round. Instead, Fleener moves up higher into the second round and, in some cases, into the late first.
No matter, according to the mocks, as the Falcons will still have plenty of talent to choose from at No. 55 overall.
Marshall defensive end Vinny Curry (pictured above), Montana cornerback Trumaine Johnson and Virginia Tech cornerback Jayron Hosley push themselves into a three-way tie for the consensus pick position this week, each being projected to the Falcons in two separate mock drafts. All had strong Combine performances.
New to the Monitor this week are California offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz and Virginia defensive end Cam Johnson. Making a return are Georgia TE Orson Charles and Clemson TE Dwayne Allen, two of the most coveted prospects in a strong tight end draft class.
