The first official injury report of the 2014 season couldn't look much better for the Falcons as the only two players listed on it were at full participation.
DT Corey Peters (Achilles) and S Dezmen Southward (concussion) were the two players listed and the news on them at mid-week appears positive.
Southward missed the final preseason game because of being in the league's concussion protocol but said Monday that he had been cleared to return. Peters is nearing the end of a long road back after a Week 16 Achilles injury derailed his ability to finish the year strong.
After starting training camp on the PUP list, Peters has been playing catch-up and it appears that things are going in the right direction for him to return this week.
"I think Corey, just from my live eye, he did some good things. I'm going to get in there and watch the tape this afternoon and really get an opportunity to speak with Corey," head coach Mike Smith said Wednesday. "Corey took a number of snaps today. It was his first really, true practice, so it'll be interesting to see how he feels, but to the live eye he looked good."
For the Saints, S Marcus Bell (hamstring) and RB Erik Lorig (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. WR Kenny Stills (quadricep) was limited. Click here for their injury report
