The play-in matchup of the Fans' Favorite Falcon series, presented by Ford, is in the books and kicker Morten Andersen — who kicked a field goal in overtime to send the Falcons to their only Super Bowl appearance in 1998 — ran away with the voting, despite the strong sentiment on the FalconsLIFE Message Board that tackle and Ring of Honor member Mike Kenn would be moving on to the top 16.
Andersen spent much of the voting period above the 50-percent mark, but Kenn began to gain some ground on him Saturday. It wasn't enough, however, as Andersen finished with 48 percent, Kenn with 30 percent and Buchanan with 22.
Andersen will go head-to-head with top-seeded Jessie Tuggle next week in the first round of the Fans' Favorite Falcon bracket.
Fan voting on the first round will begin Monday morning with No. 8 Patrick Kerney going against No. 9 William Andrews and in the afternoon with No. 2 Jamal Anderson vs. No. 15 Claude Humphrey. Fans will get 48 hours to vote on each poll before a a player is determined to move on to the next round.
The results from the first round will be revealed during our results show, which will be available on AtlantaFalcons.com starting July 2.
