FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons will reportedly be without starting left guard Andy Levitre for their Thursday night matchup with the New Orleans Saints.
Citing an unnamed source, the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted Monday that Levitre has a partially torn triceps and will not play on Thursday. In the tweet, Rapoport explains there is optimism that Levitre's injury is not season-ending and that he could return after two or three weeks of recovery.
Levitre left in the first quarter of the Falcons' loss to the Vikings on Sunday and did not return to the field. Backup guard Ben Garland took Levitre's place at left guard for the remainder of Sunday's game, and he battled with Wes Schweitzer for a starting spot on the offensive line all throughout training camp.
Against the Vikings, the Falcons' potent offense gained just 275 yards, including 102 rushing yards, and converted 1-of-10 third-down opportunities.
