As the Falcons begin preparations for the San Francisco 49ers, seven players were sidelined.
DE Adrian Clayborn (knee), CB Jalen Collins (knee), DE Dwight Freeney (non-injury related), S Kemal Ishmael (shoulder), WR Julio Jones (toe), S Robenson Therezie (ankle) and WR Nick Williams (concussion) did not participate in practice on Wednesday.
Jones is currently dealing with a sprained toe and missed the Falcons' Week 15 game versus the Rams. Jones has recently been diagnosed with a toe sprain, not turf toe.
"A sprained toe is definitely better than a turf toe [injury] which can linger, a sprain is definitely something with treatment that's going to get better faster than a long-term turf toe [injury] that could need more work," head coach Dan Quinn said. "That's the good news. We'll get him back here shortly."
Quinn and the Falcons were pleased to get WR Mohamed Sanu back on the field missing all of last week with a groin injury.
"We are excited to get Mo back and get him going today," Quinn said.
The Falcons are hopeful for Collins to play on Sunday, but if he's unable to go, Deji Olatoye and C.J. Goodwin will fill in at cornerback.
