Falcons sign linebacker Storey Jackson

In a corresponding move, the Falcons released punter Ryan Sanborn.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons signed linebacker Storey Jackson, the team announced Wednesday.

Jackson is a former undrafted free agent who got his intro into the NFL on the Cleveland Browns practice squad in 2022. As a rookie, he appeared in one game but did not record any stats. His 15 snaps were all on special teams.

The linebacker spent the 2023 season with the Arlington Renegades in the XFL. He saw action in 10 games at linebacker, accumulating 41 total tackles (two for a loss).

In return, the Falcons released punter Ryan Sanborn, an undrafted rookie. Sanborn made his exhibition debut during the Falcons' preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins last Friday, punting nine times for 415 yards. He averaged 46.1 yards per boot and landed two within the 20-yard line.
