WATCH: Falcons players have some fun with Jake Matthews celebrating his new five-year deal

On the first day of camp, the Falcons and left tackle Jake Matthews agreed to a five-year contract extension. This will be Matthews' fifth season with the Falcons.

To celebrate Matthews' new deal, his teammate Andy Levitre had a little fun with him. Levitre posted a video via Instagram celebrating Matthew's new contract extension by 'making it rain' and sprinkling fake money on Matthews while he was foam rolling.

After practice, Matthews answered a number of questions from the media, including one about what he wanted to improve on most this season (click here for more on that story). Matthews informed the press that he talks to his father almost every day. His father, Bruce Matthews, played in the league for 17 years told his son that even going into his final season he still needed to improve in certain areas. Jake feels like he has nowhere to go but up for the 2018-2019 season.

Going into his fifth season, Matthews has started all 63 games that he has played in, blocked for an offense that set a franchise record with 540 points and averages 415.8 yards per game, and blocked for an offense that broke a franchise record with 571 total yards against Carolina.
