Weekly Coverage Recap: Falcons vs. Seahawks

Monday

After watching film of Sunday's 34-10 loss to Carolina, head coach Mike Smith said Monday that he's looking for the Falcons to start working on getting on the same page as they move forward in the season.

C Peter Konz pointed out last year's undefeated start to the Falcons had as the biggest reason why he still believes the Falcons can go on a run in the second half of the 2013 season.

DE Osi Umenyiora acknolewdged a better pass rush in Sunday's loss, but said that the final score shows that there are plenty of areas where the Falcons can get better.

Although Paul Worrilow said his 19-tackle performance means nothing due to the loss, the linebacker still entered the Falcons' record book with his stats against Carolina. Another positive from Sunday's game, according to Smith, was the O-line, who had one of their better games as a unit.

Tuesday

Several Falcons joined kids from the Arthur M. Blank Family Youth YMCA on their day off Tuesday to tend to a six-acre farm in downtown Atlanta and learn more about healthy eating and living.

Wednesday

After spending the past six games on the sidelines with a foot injury, Sean Weatherspoon returned to practice Wednesday. Although he's not eligible to return until next week's game at Tampa Bay, the linebacker is getting crucial on-field work this week to get prepared for his return.

Going into a game where the Falcons will face the Seahawks, a team they know really well, QB Matt Ryan said he fully trusts his preparations, his ability and the players around him, but still said he has "to pull his own weight."

Although William Moore said going against a huge threat in Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will be challenging, the safety said he feels the Falcons match up really well with the opposing team.

After Wednesday's practice, head coach Mike Smith spoke about WR being back in limited participation as the Falcons began preparatons for the Seahawks.

After missing the past three games with a hamstring injury, Roddy White said that he's ready to rejoin his teammates on the field Sunday and is looking forward to helping out his team with more than just cheering them on from the sidelines.

TE Tony Gonzalez said having White back will bring the Falcons a 'breath of fresh air,' adding that he's looking forward to seeing the receiver go up against Seattle's defense.

Head coach Mike Smith said the return of Roddy White was a factor in the Falcons' encouraging week of practice they were having as they prepare for the Seahawks.

Friday
