The NFL announced today that wide receiver Roddy White has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl team. White will replace Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who is unable to participate due to injury.
White finished the season with 100 catches for 1,296 yards and eight touchdowns. He finished second in the League, and led the NFC, in receptions for the second straight season and became just the eighth player in NFL history to record five consecutive seasons with at least 80 catches and 1,000 yards. The seventh year receiver from the University of Alabama-Birmingham ranked eighth in the NFL in receiving yards and set a franchise record for career receiving yards with 7,374 receiving yards in his seven seasons with the club.
This year marks his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection as he made the NFC squad in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He joins tight end Tony Gonzalez as Falcons who will represent the club in Hawaii on January 29.
