The second opinion that wide receiver Julio Jones received Wednesday afternoon on the foot he injured during Monday night's loss to the Jets did, indeed, conclude that Jones would be out for the rest of the season.
Head coach Mike Smith confirmed news that Jones' season is over Wednesday night.
"Unfortunately, Julio's appointment with the doctor today confirmed our initial findings," Smith said. "He is scheduled to have a season-ending procedure on Monday."
Smith said Tuesday that Jones was looked at by team doctors, who concluded he would need to miss the rest of the season, and Jones wanted to get another opinion.
