WR Jones Takes Part in Walkthrough, Misses Practice

Although WR Julio Jones (turf toe) missed practice Thursday afternoon, the three-time Pro Bowler took part in walkthroughs and did some work on the side, according to head coach Dan Quinn. The Falcons are hopeful Jones will return to practice Friday in a limited fashion.

"We'll cross that bridge when it comes," Quinn said. "He did good today in the (walkthrough). That was kind of the first test because he ran, jogged and cut. And then we'll see him run full speed and do some drills – that kind of stuff today. And then hopefully we'll get him back in practice tomorrow. We're kind of taking it step by step and we'll take it through tomorrow."

Like Jones, LT Jake Matthews (knee) took part in walkthroughs, was held out of practice and worked on the side. T Tom Compton (knee), who was limited on Wednesday, returned to full participation. If Matthews is sidelined for this week's game in LA, he will be expected to start at left tackle.

DE Adrian Clayborn (knee) and WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) were held out of practice, as well. On Wednesday, Quinn said he is hopeful Clayborn will return to the field in the next two weeks.
