Julio Jones wins NFC offensive player of the week for his performance during week four of the NFL season.
Jones set a franchise record with 300 receiving yards on 12 receptions in Atlanta's 48-33 win over the Carolina Panthers. He became just the fourth player in the Super Bowl era to record 300 receiving yards in a single game. Jones added a 75-yard touchdown, his sixth career touchdown of 70 yards. He also averaged 25 yards per reception, which is tied for the fifth best single-game average among receivers with at least 10 catches. Jones' Week 4 performance vaulted him into the NFL lead with 488 receiving yards this season.
The three-time Pro Bowler shattered his own club record of 259 yards set in Green Bay in 2014 and became the only player in the Super Bowl era to post two games with 250 yards. He now has nine career games with 160 receiving yards. Only Lance Alworth (12) and Jerry Rice (11) have had more in their first six NFL seasons. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Jones and Matt Ryan are the first pair of teammates in NFL history to have 300 receiving yards and 500 passing yards in the same game.
This is Jones' third time winning player of the week. Since the start of the 2015 season, it is the most by any wide receiver during that span.
