Biography
John Griffin was named director of player performance on Feb. 22, 2024.
Griffin joined the Falcons after spending the past three seasons (2021-23) with the Los Angeles Rams, serving two seasons (2021-22) as assistant strength and conditioning coach and most recently associate director of strength and conditioning in 2023.
Before joining the Rams, he worked as the senior associate director of athletic performance at Baylor University in 2020, his second stint with the school. He also spent three years (2017-19) at the University of South Carolina as the assistant director of strength and conditioning.
Griffin's career started at Baylor where he began as an assistant athletic performance coach from 2015-2017. Before starting his career in athletic performance, Griffin played one season in the NFL (2012) as a running back for the New York Jets.
He earned his Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University in 2012 before earning a master's in exercise science and health promotion from PennWest California in 2022. Griffin played running back for three seasons (2007-09) at Northeastern University, earning first-team All-CAA honors in 2009 before transferring to UMass in 2010.
