Biography

CAREER

  • Selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round (98th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft and played eight season for the Broncos from 2016-23.
  • Simmons appeared in 118 games (108 starts) logging 605 tackles (443 solo), with 19 tackles for loss, 30 interceptions, 4.5 sacks and 64 passes defensed.
  • In 2023, Simmons earned second-team All-Pro honors in ech of the last three seasons and was named to his second career Pro Bowl last year after recording 70 tackles (53 solo), three interceptions, one sack and eight passes defensed.
  • Simmons was ranked in the top five in the NFL in interceptions three times in his career.
  • In 2022, Simmons started all 12 games he played in finishing the season with 69 tackles (42 solo) a career high of six interceptions, seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
  • His six interceptions were the most by a Bronco in a single season since Pro Football Hall of Fame CB Champ Bailey (10) in 2006
  • In 2021, he started all 17 games played, totaling 80 tackles (60 solo), 1.5 sacks (13 yds.), five interceptions (76 yds.) and 12 passes defensed

  • In 2018, Simmons started all 16 games and ranked second on the team with 97 tackles (71 solo) to go along with three interceptions and four passes defensed. Was one of three players in the NFL to start 100 percent of his team's defensive snaps.
  • In 2017, Simmons opened all 13 games played before suffering a season-ending ankle injury and finished with 63 tackles (46 solo), one sack two interceptions and five passes defensed.
  • In his rookie season, Simmons played 13 games (3 starts) and recorded 24 tackles (20 solo), one sack, two interceptions , four passes defensed, one blocked extra point and five special-teams stops.

  • Started all 12 games at free safety his senor year and posted 67 tackles (49 solo), one tackle for loss, five interceptions, seven passes defended, and two forced fumbles.
  • Awarded the Jay McGillis Memorial Scholarship Award and the William J. Flynn MVP Award in 2015.
  • In 2014, he played in all 13 games (13 starts) and led the team with 76 tackles (63 solo) and two interceptions on a defense that was ranked second in the nation. Also recorded five passes defended and one tackle for loss.
  • As a sophomore he appeared in all 13 games, totaling 34 tackles (22 solo), one tackle for loss and three passes defended.
  • Appeared in all 12 games as a freshman in 2012 and recorded 52 tackles, one interception, five passes defended, and two forced fumbles (tied for team high).
