FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have signed 13 players to reserve/future contracts following the conclusion of the 2024 regular season.
Below is a complete list of the players signed:
- Junior Aho, defensive tackle*
- Phillip Dorsett II, wide receiver*
- Elijah Dotson, running back*
- Dylan Drummond, wide receiver*
- Joey Fisher, offensive guard
- Jovaughn Gwyn, offensive guard*
- Lamar Jackson, defensive back*
- Emory Jones, quarterback*
- Khalid Kareem, defensive end*
- Jesse Matthews, wide receiver*
- Makai Polk, wide receiver
- Benny Sapp III, defensive back*
- Tyrone Wheatley Jr., offensive tackle*
Eleven of the names – those with an asterisk – are already familiar to the Falcons, as they were on Atlanta's practice squad when the 2024 season concluded.
Three were even elevated and saw game time in 2024:
- Gwyn appeared in one game, taking two special teams snaps in the Week 18 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- Jackson appeared in two games, taking 18 special teams snaps between the Week 17 loss to the Washington Commanders and the Week 18 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
- Kareem appeared in two games, taking 32 defensive snaps and 22 special teams snaps between the Week 10 loss to the New Orleans Saints and the Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. He totaled four tackles, two of which were solo.
The only two who were not in Atlanta this past year are offensive guard Joey Fisher and wide receiver Makai Polk.
Fisher spent the 2024 preseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was waived on the 53-man roster cut deadline. He did not sign elsewhere afterward.
Polk played for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 2024, recording 61 receptions for 1,024 yards and five touchdowns. He has previous NFL practice squad experience but no live reps.
The Falcons finished 2024 with an 8-9 record.
