Thirteen of the names – those with an asterisk – are already familiar to the Falcons, as they were on Atlanta's practice squad at some point during the 2024 season.
Three were even elevated and saw game time in 2024:
- Gwyn appeared in one game, taking two special teams snaps in the Week 18 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- Jackson appeared in two games, taking 18 special teams snaps between the Week 17 loss to the Washington Commanders and the Week 18 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
- Kareem appeared in two games, taking 32 defensive snaps and 22 special teams snaps between the Week 10 loss to the New Orleans Saints and the Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. He totaled four tackles, two of which were solo.
The only three who were not in Atlanta this past year are offensive guard Joey Fisher, tight end Nikola Kalinic, wide receiver David Sills and wide receiver Makai Polk.
Fisher spent the 2024 preseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was waived on the 53-man roster cut deadline. He did not sign elsewhere afterward.
Kalinic appeared in two games last year on special teams after the Los Angeles Rams elevated him from their practice squad. That put him at seven career appearances since 2022, highlighted by one kick return for 12 yards.
Sills was on the Denver Broncos' practice squad last season. He was elevated in Week 17 but did not see any action. Sills does, however, have 16 game appearances with seven starts on his resume since 2021. He has 13 career receptions for 123 yards.
Polk played for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 2024, recording 61 receptions for 1,024 yards and five touchdowns. He has previous NFL practice squad experience but no live reps.
The Falcons finished 2024 with an 8-9 record.
