LAS VEGAS — Bijan Robinson added another feather to his cap in the Falcons' Monday night bout with the Las Vegas Raiders. For the first time since joining the league last year, the second-year running back surpassed the 1,000 rushing yards mark in a single season. He did so in the first quarter.
"This is a cool achievement, but I think this is for the whole team," Robinson said after the Falcons' win over the Raiders Monday night. "This isn't something that I have done. It's the o-line. This is a team-achievement. I thank those guys up front every single day — and Charlie (Woerner), Ross (Dwelley) and Kyle (Pitts) as an extension and the receivers. Without them it would never happen."
Robinson entered Monday night's game with 977-yards rushing and 401-yards receiving.
He now can add 125 rushing yards and 10 passing yards to that total. With 22 total carries Monday night, the Falcons heavily relied Robinson to carry the offensive load. He averaged 5.7 yards per carry by the night's end.
What's more, Robinson's 135 yards from scrimmage against the Raiders was the 10th such game of Robinson surpassing the century mark in scrimmage yards. It's the first time a Falcons player has gone 10-or-more games with over 100 scrimmage yards in a single season since Julio Jones did so in 2018.
As Will McFadden reported Sunday, Robinson finds himself towards the top of the league in multiple statistical categories.
Robinson ranks third among all NFC players with 1,378 scrimmage yards through 13 games. He is second among NFC running backs with 401 receiving yards, tied for fifth with 66 first downs (50 rushing) and tied for sixth in total touchdowns with nine (eight rushing).
Heading into Week 15, Robinson ranked second in the league in games of at least 100 yards from scrimmage with nine. Saquon Barkley holds the No. 1 spot. Meanwhile, Robinson's missed tackles forced are third among NFC running backs.
The last time a Falcons' running back hit the same mark in rushing yards was in 2022, when Tyler Allgeier did so in his rookie year.
