FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons center Drew Dalman's game status for Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Dallas Cowboys has been downgraded to out, the team announced Saturday.
Dalman was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday. He sustained an ankle injury in the Falcons' Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but was a full participant Friday. Still, he was listed as questionable on Friday’s game report.
Dalman being ruled out means the Falcons will continue to rely on backup center Ryan Neuzil for another week of competition. Neuzil took over the starting responsibility from Weeks 4-8.
Also on Saturday, the Falcons announced they chose defensive lineman Demone Harris and cornerback Natrone Brooks as their standard practice squad elevations for the third consecutive week.
Harris and Brooks received the nod prior to the Falcons' loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7 and their win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8.
Harris appeared in both of those last two games, taking a combined 44% of the defensive snaps. He was credited with two tackles and a quarterback hit.
Brooks also appeared in the Falcons' last two games, taking 60% of the special teams snaps, but did not record any stats.
The Falcons-Cowboys game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET Sunday and set to air live on FOX from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Previous 2024 practice squad elevations include:
- Week 1: cornerback Kevin King and wide receiver Chris Blair
- Week 2: safety Dane Cruikshank
- Week 3: none
- Week 4: offensive lineman Matt Hennessy
- Week 5: Hennessy and inside linebacker Josh Woods
- Week 6: Hennessy and King
- Week 7: Harris and Brooks
- Week 8: Harris and Brooks
As a reminder, teams can elevate up to two practice squad players per game. Each player can only be elevated a max of three times. If a fourth time comes up, the player must be signed to the active roster.
