Falcons re-sign OL Elijah Wilkinson

The former undrafted free agent is set for his third season in Atlanta and his ninth year in the NFL.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons re-signed offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson, the organization announced Wednesday.

Wilkinson made just two game appearances in 2024 for the Falcons – the Week 4 win against the New Orleans Saints and the Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. His snaps mainly came on special teams – eight total between the two games – but he did take one offensive snap against the Broncos. The Falcons signed Wilkinson to their practice squad late last August and elevated him to the active roster a month later, shortly after the season started.

Last year wasn't Wilkinson's first go with the Falcons, though. He started nine games at left guard in 2022, taking 100% of the offensive snaps and only 14% of the special teams snap across those appearances. The Falcons went 3-6 in the nine games Wilkinson started in 2022, averaging 22 points with 159 rushing yards and 155 passing yards per game.

Wilkinson originally left Atlanta for the Arizona Cardinals in 2023, where he started nine of the 10 games in which he played. He had his third career fumble recovery that season.

Before Arizona and Atlanta – both times – Wilkinson spent four years with the Broncos (2017-20) and one with the Chicago Bears (2021). His most active season was in 2019, when he started 12 of the 15 games in which he played. His second career fumble recovery was that season; his first was 2018.

Wilkinson joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent. He's 30 years old, now entering his ninth season, and stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs in 314 pounds.

The Falcons return all but one member of their starting offensive line from 2024. Center Drew Dalman hit free agency and reportedly signed with the Chicago Bears. Otherwise, from left to right, tackle Jake Matthews, guard Matthew Bergeron, guard Chris Lindstrom and tackle Kaleb McGary are still on the roster.
