Falcons injury report: Darnell Mooney, Mike Hughes among 12 players limited

The Falcons held their first practice Wednesday in preparation for Sunday's home game against the Chargers.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. —The Atlanta Falcons held their first practice Wednesday after the bye week as they continue preparations for Sunday's home game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Despite the week off to recuperate, the Falcons' injury report on Wednesday was quite lengthy. There were 14 players listed in total, including 12 who were limited. That number does include outside linebacker Matthew Judon (rest) and cornerback Clark Phillips III (personal matter), who are not dealing with injuries. Several starters are among the players dinged up to begin the week. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney is still nursing an Achilles injury, while cornerbacks Dee Alford (hamstring) and Mike Hughes (neck) are also working their way back. Also, the following four players remain in the league's concussion protocol: Kevin King, JD Bertrand, Casey Washington and Charlie Woerner.

We'll continue to monitor the team's key injuries throughout the week as Atlanta attempts to get healthy ahead of a key matchup.
