FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Falcons announced Tuesday that they have waived wide receiver Julian Williams and signed cornerback Taveze Calhoun to the practice squad.
Since signing with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Calhoun, 25, has also spent time on the New Orleans Saints' and Miami Dolphins' practice squads. Calhoun has appeared in one NFL game with the Saints in 2016. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound cornerback played four seasons at Mississippi State, where he recorded 158 tackles, 21 pass defenses, 12 tackles for a loss and six interceptions.
Williams was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Florida International University in the preseason. He caught one pass for four yards in the Falcons' final preseason game. In his two seasons at FIU, Williams played in 21 games and caught 41 passes for 483 yards and two touchdowns.
