FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons re-signed wide receiver and special teamer KhaDarel Hodge, the team announced Monday. The news was first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport last Wednesday, March 12.
Hodge's deal is reportedly for two years and worth $6 million.
Hodge, who earned his first Pro Bowl bid last season due to his special teams efforts, had a season full of highlights in 2024. During the Falcons' Week 4 win against the New Orleans Saints, Hodge recovered a muffed punt in the end zone for a touchdown. In overtime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5, Hodge caught a 45-yard, walk-off touchdown. And during the Falcons' Week 15 win against the Las Vegas Raiders, Hodge got his hands on not just one but two punts, officially blocking one and tipping another. That last performance earned him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
"Hodge works his tail off," Falcons punter Bradley Pinion said Dec. 16, 2024. "Phenomenal teammate. Phenomenal gunner. Phenomenal wide receiver. I mean, he's an all-around good guy."
Hodge joined the Falcons in 2022 and has been in the NFL since 2018 when he signed with the the Los Angeles Rams signed as an undrafted rookie free agent. Hodge then played for the Cleveland Browns (2019-20) and Detroit Lions (2021).
Throughout his career, which features nine starts and 106 appearances, Hodge has totaled 64 receptions for 995 yards and two touchdowns. He has averaged 15.5 yards per reception.
Hodge is 30 years old, entering his eighth season.
