In the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, Matt Ryan became the 10th player in NFL history to reach 50,000 career passing yards.

Ryan reached that milestone on a 14-yard pass to Russell Gage. The list of quarterbacks to reach 50,000 career passing yards is a collection of some of the most distinguished passers in league history. Here is the list, along with each quarterback's passing yards entering Sunday's games:

Drew Brees: 76,228 yards*

Tom Brady: 73,782 yards*

Peyton Manning: 71,940 yards

Brett Favre: 71,838 yards

Dan Marino: 61,361 yards

Philip Rivers: 58,090 yards*

Ben Roethlisberger: 56,545 yards*

Eli Manning: 56,537 yards*

John Elway: 51,475 yards

*Player is still active

Ryan is now among that group, and is quickly catching up to Hall of Famer John Elway in the record books. During the Falcons' 29-3 victory against the Panthers in Week 10, Ryan surpassed another Hall of Famer, Warren Moon, and moved to No. 10 on the NFL's all-time passing list.
