Atlanta Falcons Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Greg Beadles was recognized this morning at the 2012 Atlanta Business Chronicle's CFO of the year Awards. Beadles was named CFO of the Year in the community service category.
"It is a tremendous accomplishment to be honored by the Atlanta Business Chronicle," Beadles said. "We pride ourselves as being leaders in the community and this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire organization. One of the hallmarks of our Owner & Chairman Arthur Blank, is giving back to the community and it is a true honor for the Atlanta Falcons to be recognized for our community service."
Beadles has been an executive officer with the Falcons for the past 11 years and has spent the last 18 years working for the club. His responsibilities have grown over the years beyond overseeing all financial operations of the club to include the facilities, travel and logistics departments. He also serves as one of the team's primary liaisons with the NFL League Office and the Georgia Dome. Beadles also serves as President of Atlanta Falcons Physical Therapy Centers, a growing business he helped to launch in 2007 that now includes 10 rehabilitation clinics across Georgia open to the general public.
Beadles' career in the NFL started with the Falcons in 1995 when he was an intern in the finance department. He later served as Controller of the Falcon Inn & Conference Center until 1998. Beadles then held the position of Senior Accountant with the club until being promoted to Director of Finance for the 2000–2001 seasons. Owner & Chairman Arthur Blank promoted him to Vice President of Finance shortly after purchasing the Falcons in 2002. He added the CFO title after the 2003 season and was named Senior Vice President in 2011.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle's CFO of the Year Awards recognizes Atlanta's most talented and dedicated chief financial officers. To select the winners and finalists, the Atlanta Business Chronicle partners with Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) to assemble an expert judging panel. Nominees are judged on criteria that takes into account not only their contributions to a company's growth, profitability and balance sheet management, but also their overall leadership, significant achievements and contributions to the community at large.
