The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have agreed to terms with linebacker Mike Petersonon a one-year contract.
Peterson, 6-foot-1, 226 pounds, played in all 16 games in 2010 with 13 starts and posted 79 tackles (47 solo) with one sack, two interceptions, one forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and five passes defensed. The veteran linebacker has totaled 1,584 tackles (937 solo), 21.5 sacks, 18 interceptions, 50 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles, and nine fumble recoveries in 164 career games. According to the coaches' film breakdown, the University of Florida product sits fifth among active players in total tackles.
