Die Ausgangslage Die Atlanta Falcons (2-1) starteten mit zwei beeindruckenden Heimsiegen in die Saison, mussten jedoch letztes Wochenende in Detroit eine erste Saisonniederlage hinnehmen. Am kommenden Sonntag sind wir bereit, im historischen Wembley-Stadion auf die Erfolgsspur zurückzukehren und die Jacksonville Jaguars zu besiegen.
Der Spielort Das Wembley-Stadion ist das Nationalstadion von England und die Heimat des englischen Fußballs. Eine bessere Kulisse als das Wembley-Stadion gibt es kaum. Mit 90.000 Plätzen ist es die größte Sportstätte im Vereinigten Königreich und nach Camp Nou in Barcelona, das zweitgrößte Stadion in Europa.
Der Gegner Die Jaguars (1-2) starteten mit viel Hype in die Saison, müssen sich aber nun vor ihrem zweiwöchigen London-Trip neu orientieren. Auch sie mussten letztes Wochenende eine Niederlage gegen die Houston Texans hinnehmen, gegen die sie in den letzten 25 Spielen 20-mal verloren haben. Die Jaguars gingen zwar als leichter Favorit ins Spiel, mussten jedoch eine klare 37:17-Niederlage einstecken. Es ist erwähnenswert, dass die Jaguars bereits 2012 als erstes Team eine mehrjährige Verpflichtung für NFL-Spiele in London eingegangen sind. Ihr jährlicher Besuch auf der anderen Seite des großen Teichs ist zu einer Tradition für ihre Fans geworden. Mit dem Spiel gegen die Falcons bestreiten die Jaguars ihr zehntes Regular-Season-Spiel in London.

Über die Herausforderungen, die die Jaguars darstellen: "Jacksonville ist ein exzellentes Team mit talentierten Spielern. Sie haben im Wesentlichen in vier Passfänger investiert, und der Quarterback, den sie als Nummer-1-Pick gedraftet haben, ist ein guter Spieler", sagte Head Coach Arthur Smith. "Dieses Spiel wird wichtig für uns sein, aber das ist die Herausforderung, der NFL. Können wir zurückkommen und unseren dritten Sieg einfahren, und das alles, auf der anderen Seite der Welt? Wir freuen uns darauf, aber es wird definitiv eine Challenge."
Das Personal Leider ist Linebacker Troy Andersen nach seiner Verletzung gegen die Lions außer Gefecht. Die ersten Informationen waren nicht ermutigend und deuten auf eine Schulter-/Oberschenkelverletzung hin. Eine MRT-Untersuchung bestätigte die Schwere der Verletzung. "Das ist ein bitterer Moment", sagte Smith. "Das ist leider ein Teil der NFL, den niemand sehen möchte."
So könnt ihr das Spiel verfolgen Der Anpfiff erfolgt um 15:30 Uhr (deutsche Zeit). Ihr könnt das Spiel live auf RTL im Free-TV sowie auf dem kostenpflichtigen Streaming-Dienst RTL+ verfolgen. Bereits um 13:30 Uhr beginnt die Übertragung von "Exklusiv Weekend Spezial – Die Stars im NFL-Fieber". Die Fakten zum Spiel
- Unsere Falcons bestreiten am Sonntag ihr drittes Spiel in London und das zweite im Wembley-Stadion. Insgesamt haben wir eine Bilanz von 1:1 in London. Unser letzter Auftritt war ein 27:20-Sieg gegen die New York Jets im Tottenham-Hotspur-Stadion im Oktober 2021.
- Gegen die Jaguars führen wir insgesamt mit 5-3, wobei wir die letzten vier Begegnungen für uns entscheiden konnten.
- Rookie-Running Back Bijan Robinson hat bereits 102 Receiving Yards in seinen ersten drei NFL-Spielen erzielt. Damit ist er der erste Rookie-Running Back der Falcons, der so schnell die 100-Yard-Marke erreicht hat.
- Safety Jessie Bates III konnte bereits nach drei Saisonspielen seine dritte Interception verbuchen. Mit einer weiteren Interception am Sonntag könnte er der dritte Spieler in der Geschichte der Franchise sein, der in den ersten vier Spielen einer Saison vier Interceptions erzielt.
